The Players' Journey Stories
NRG entered the VALORANT scene in 2020 and quickly rose to prominence with a win at the 2021 NSG Summer Qualifier. Joining Riot’s partnered leagues in 2022, they rebuilt around s0m and OpTic Gaming’s championship core, achieving a runner-up finish in the 2023 Americas League and deep international runs at Masters Tokyo and VALORANT Champions. In 2024, NRG capped another year of change by sweeping Gen.G to claim the SOOP League championship.

Today, NRG’s roster features skuba, brawk, mada, ethan, and s0m—a blend of veteran leadership and rising stars. With resilience, adaptability, and championship ambition at its core, the team continues to compete at the highest level of global VALORANT.

NRG made history by winning the 2025 VALORANT Champions in Paris with an undefeated run. Across 18 days of fierce battles, they showed remarkable consistency and resilience. NRG conquered the world, taking down Fnatic once more with a thrilling 3-2 victory in the grand final, completing a flawless campaign that crowned them the best team in the world.
Mada
Who Is the Team's Star Player?
In his rookie VCT season in 2025, Mada has wasted no time in establishing himself as NRG's star player. As the team's duelist, he carried the responsibility of setting the pace and delivering the firepower, a role which he has stepped into with ease.

Although it is his rookie season in VCT, Mada is no stranger to competition. He built his reputation in the Challengers circuit on organizations like Andbox, Luminosity and Shopify, consistently standing out as one of the top players in the server. His breakout year came in 2024 with Moist x Shopify, where his performances made him one of the most sought-after talents in North America. NRG secured his signing fro 2024, and he has already proven to be a difference-maker at the highest level. Mada finished out his first regular season as the kill leader in Americas, with 442 total eliminations, as well as holding the title for most Operator kills across the all regions.
The Road to Glory: From Obscurity to the Spotlight
Darkest Hour
NRG's toughest setback came at VALORANT Champions in 2023, where they suffered a loss to Bilibili Gaming, ending their run in the group stage despite entering the tournament as one of the top contenders. The early exit also closed the chapter on their 2023 season, and triggered major change. The defeat set the stage for a full-scale rebuild, which has since seen a number of iterations and further changes. Through all of the phases as they searched for the right formula, NRG assembled a core of key players and coaching staff. With this foundation in stage, the team was positioned to make a significant impact, becoming the VCT Americas Stage 2 runner-ups, as well as favorites heading into 2025 Champions.
Defining Moments
NRG's competitive history is marked by defining moments, both triumphant and heartbreaking. During VCT Americas 2023, NRG secured qualification to Masters Tokyo with a dramatic win over Cloud9, capitalizing on a critical mistake made by the opponent failing to use their ultimate ability in the final round of regular season play. That very same Masters event produced the infamous "Cove Incident," when s0m was eliminated at the last second during overtime on Pearl, a moment that is now etched into the memories of fans. 2025 however brought redemption, as NRG beat C9 in a do-or-die match, earning their first return to an international stage since Champions 2023.

The Esports Journey Worth Remembering
S0M
Once regarded as one of North America's rising stars in Counter-Strike, s0m signed with an organization at just 15 years old as a streamer, since he was still too young to compete professionally. By 16, he made his pro debut with Envy, and his final CS:GO appearance came with Gen.G, where he lifted the trophy at DreamHack Anaheim. Shortly afterward, he transitioned to VALORANT with NRG, where he has spent his entire career in the game, nearly five years and counting.
Ethan
Ethan's breakthrough also came in CS:GO, when NRG acquired him from CLG. He quickly established himself as one of the scene's top players, winning titles with both NRG and Evil Geniuses and even reaching the world No. 1 ranking. After making the switch to VALORANT, Ethan added to his legacy by capturing a world championship in 2023. With elite success in two titles, he has cemented his reputation as one of the greatest American FPS players of all time.
Mada / Brawk / Skuba
For Mada, Brawk, and Skuba, the path to the top tier wasn't immediate. Each spent years grinding in Challengers before finally earning the call-up to VCT with NRG. Since joining, all three have exceeded expectations, proving they belong on the international stage.
