OBSBOT Webcam Firmware Upgrade Manual

Preparation

  1. OBSBOT Webcam (Take OBSBOT Tiny 2 as an example)
  2. USB-C Cable
  3. Computer
  4. OBSBOT Center (Formerly OBSBOT WebCam) https://www.obsbot.com/download

Notice

  1. Do not disconnect from the network.
  2. Do not turn off your webcam during upgrade.
  3. Make sure to close all applications that might use the OBSBOT webcam during the upgrade, such as OBS Studio, Zoom, Skype, and Google Meet.
  4. Make sure you’ve disabled any VPN, firewall, and antivirus applications on your computer.

    Auto Upgrade (Recommendation)

    • Connect OBSBOT webcam to the computer with a USB-C cable. When the green light keeps on, it indicates that the device is on.

    • Open OBSBOT Center (Formerly OBSBOT WebCam) and check the connection status information of your OBSBOT webcam.

    • Once connected, a "Firmware Upgrade Info" window will pop up displaying "Firmware Upgrade" if there is a new firmware. Click "Yes" to continue.

    • Or, you can find “Firmware Version” in “More”, and click ”Update”.

    • After downloading, click "OK" to start the upgrade. During the upgrade, the blue and yellow lights will flash alternately.

    • The indicator light of the device will turn green when the upgrade is complete. You can then check your latest version in "Firmware Version”.

    Manual Upgrade

    • Connect OBSBOT webcam to the computer with a data cable. And when the green lights keep on which means the device is on.

    • Download the latest firmware file on: https://www.obsbot.com/download

    • Enter OBSBOT Center (Formerly OBSBOT WebCam) and check the connection status information of your OBSBOT Webcam.

    • Click “Manual Upgrade” and find the firmware you have downloaded on your computer then begin to upgrade.

    • During the upgrade, the blue and yellow light will flash alternately.

    • The indicator light of the device will turn green which means the upgrade is finished. Then you can check your latest version in “Firmware Version”.

  • FAQ

    • The OBSBOT Center (Formerly OBSBOT WebCam) App doesn’t find the device, even though the device is successfully connected to the computer, the tracking and gesture control works properly.

      It’s probably caused by the unstable connection between the computer and the device, try to unplug/replug the USB Type-C cable.

    • The upgrade process is stuck on 0%.

      It’s probably some applications like VPN, Firewall or antivirus app on your computer blocked the data transmission, try to upgrade the firmware again after you disable these applications.

    • ‘xxxx.dll file was not found’ is prompted during the upgrading.

      Follow the path below to update your Microsoft Runtime Library, the missing files will automatically add to your computer.
      All settings -> Update and Security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates.
